Q U E S T I ON I : TR ANSLAT I ON (80 marks)

Translate the following passage into French

Afonda, a farmer, lived in a small village in the South. He was a rich bachelor and wanted to get married. His best friend, Ndruh, introduced him to a beautiful girl called Tété. They fell in love and later became husband and wife

They believed in God and prayed a lot.

Ten months after their marriage, Tété gave birth to a baby girl. Her husband was very happy. He loved his wife more and more and did everything to please her.

“You must not do any more house work. You only have to breastfeed ‘my’ daughter,” he would say with much

love. This always made Tété to smile.

Sometime later, according to their tradition, Afonda organized a feast, He killed a bull and invited the entire village. People also came from nearby villages. The guests ate and drank to their satisfaction.

The happy couple had many more children afterwards.

In at least 140 and not more than 150 words (not counting words In brackets, figures, abbreviations and names of people or places) write an essay in  FRENCH on  ONE of the following topics, using a suitable tense.
